What’s the matter?
Is matter pure? What constitutes matter? How does one determine the purity of matter? What are impure forms of matter classified into? Can we separate the impure from the pure?
To answer all of the above questions we provide our very own Purity of Matter kit, to use real-time and actual experiments to bring to life many simple concepts of matter. Your child will soon answer all of the above questions themselves, with a retentive, critical and more focused understanding.
The first experiment consists of apparatus to teach your child how to make different mixtures & thus classify them into solutions, colloids & suspensions by passing light through them.
Your child will learn how to make a colloidal solution by mixing oil and water by using the emulsification process.
To understand the methods of separation of mixtures, we teach your child how to make the following models:
A centrifuge machine: By using provided material, your child will soon be able to create their own battery-operated and fully functional centrifuge machine!
Chromatography: By using provided paper designed for this model, your child will learn how to separate two different ink blotches by using the method of chromatography.
By the end of this project, your child will be well-equipped with comprehensive knowledge of the purity of matter, and an out-of-the-box knowledge accompanied with a sharper focus on the subject.
